What actually fixes a bad fit in a women's boot
Most of the pain in a new pair of boots isn't really an ankle-support problem or a durability problem. It's a last problem: the mold the boot is built around doesn't match the shape of your foot. A boot marketed as "women's" that's really a men's boot resized down keeps the men's heel width and instep volume, just in shorter lengths. That mismatch shows up as heel slip, toe crowding on descents and pressure across the top of the foot.
